Addictions

So, I'm like, TOTALLY addicted to the Internet. First thing in the morning, I turn on my computer and start checking my emails. Well, those emails lead to links and other exciting things, and the next thing I know, I've been surfing the Net for HOURS! Which means, I've gotten NOTHING done. It's been a hard habit to break.

When I forgot to fix dinner and do the laundry (once too often, e-hem) this problem made me realize I've got to set boundaries for myself. So, I decided, I won't check my emails before 12:00 noon. Waiting until noon leaves less time for "playing" on those unimportant emails and links, and is actually much more effective at helping me get my work done. Now I only check emails that are important or have priority (because I have less time), and once I get all those taken care of, then there's time to play--IF I still want to do that, and I'm finding that I don't usually feel like it by then.

Anyway, I'm really excited about this because I'm getting not just more done around the house, but also more WRITING done, and you all know how important that is! :-)

Am I the only one around here fighting this addiction?

Okay, so it is after NOON, but my time is limited, so . . . I'm outta here!

  1. Sorry, you're not the only person who has to set boundaries. :) Internet definitely eats up my time: some legitimate, some not so much. Still, setting boundaries is a priority for me. Good post. Hope to not see you until afternoon tomorrow! LOL
